GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION

The Intervet Race for the Truck will be held July 20th – 22nd, 2007 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma and offers contestants a shot at over $146,000 in cash and prizes, including a Dodge Dually Crew Cab Truck - GUARANTEED.  Due to many contestants wanting an Expanded Payoff, we will not have the Diesel Money Jackpot.

Three days have been scheduled in which to run this single barrel race. The event is limited to the first 2,000 contestants. Contestants will be offered their choice of five sections (each with 400 runners) in which to run.  No special requests on draw positions in a section will be accepted; however, you may choose which section you will run in as long as availability exists in that section.  Each section will take 7± hours to run. The Day sections will start at 9:00am, and the Night sections will start at 6:00pm.

Entry fees are $130 per horse with a one time processing fee (please refer to How to Enter). The Rider Incentive Races will have a $20 entry fee. The draw will be posted on Tuesday, July 10th. Send in your entry early to reserve your section!

As previously mentioned, World Barrel Racing Productions GUARANTEES that a minimum of $146,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded during the Intervet Race for the Truck. This means that the money and prizes advertised are guaranteed no matter if there are 200 or 2,000 entries. At a WBRP barrel race, you will know what the payoff will be before you ever leave your house. Our payouts will NEVER decrease – as a matter of fact, when we experience a large turnout quite often even more money and prizes are added.

NOTE:  We are anticipating a large turnout for the upcoming 2007 Barrelnanza Finals.  ALL FINALS CONTESTANTS MUST BE WBRP MEMBERS in order to compete.  In order to allow ample time for interested individuals to become members AND compete at a remaining WBRP event, entries for the Intervet Race for the Truck are now open.

1. How do I enter the Intervet Race for the Truck ?

The first to enter will receive their choice of sections in which to run. Meeting the "Post Mark Deadline" of Thursday, June 28th does not guarantee you a position in that section. So enter early.  Late entries will receive their choice of sections only if space is available in the requested section. All late entries will be assessed a $20 late fee. Late entries will only be accepted by fax to 432-224-1222. The late entry deadline by fax is July 19, 2007 by 4:00pm.  Do not mail entries in after the "Post Mark Deadline." Please no changes to your entry after you send them in. There will be a $10 change fee if you must.

There are three ways to enter:

a.         Online at www.worldbarrelracing.com.  Our easy-to-complete online entry will be available until midnight, Thursday, June 28th.  There is a one-time $20 processing fee to enter online.

b.         By fax to 432-224-1222. Contestants pay a one-time processing fee of $25 to enter by fax and may do so without penalty through 5 pm, Thursday, June 28th. Contestants wishing to late enter may do so until 4 pm, Thursday, July 19th. All late entries will be assessed a $20 late fee in addition to the processing fee.

c.         By mail to:  WBRP, P. O. Box 1330, Athens, TX  75751.  Contestants pay a one-time processing fee of $25 to enter by mail. All entries must be postmarked by to Thursday, June 28th.

2. If I wish to buy a membership, enter the Intervet Race for the Truck, and then are unable to attend that race, will I still be able to compete at the 2007 Barrelnanza Finals?

You MUST join WBRP and enter a minimum of one of our remaining races in order to compete at the Finals.  Competing in one race as a member will allow you to enter up to two horses at the Finals.  Competing as a member in two races will allow you to enter a maximum of five horses.  If you have not purchased a WBRP membership and competed in a WBRP event prior to September 17th, you will NOT be allowed to compete in the 2007 Barrelnanza Finals.  Membership is $50/year for the first member and $30 for each additional family member.

Extenuating circumstances (such as the high cost of fuel) may make the decision to attend a regular season event difficult for some contestants, thus keeping them from being able to qualify for the Finals. Last year, several individuals realized that they could qualify for the Finals if they entered an event and were turned out.  Although we would prefer that you experience a WBRP event in person prior to the Finals, we have no control over this. Our staff must assume that individuals who are turned out were actually present, but missed their run.

This does not apply to individuals who choose to draw out of an event. Please understand that if you draw out and are refunded any portion of your entry fees, you will not be counted as having attended the event.

3. Late Entries (L.E.)

All Late Entries received after the draw has been posted (July 10th) will be placed at the bottom of the draw.  The Late Entry draw will not be posted until 1 hour prior to the beginning of each section. The Late Entry draw will be a random computer draw.

4. What are the procedures for drawing out of the barrel race?

A refund for draw out for only entry fees, stall fees, and RV fees, less a 25% service charge, will be granted to qualifying contestants for any reason. Sorry no refunds for processing fee. The "Draw out Form" must be completed and returned to the show secretary by 4:00pm, Monday, July 9th.  A Draw-Out Form can be found on our webpage or one can be faxed to you. NOTE:  Your draw out is not official until you receive a fax confirmation page from us.  So please list a return fax #.

5. Are horse substitutions allowed?

Yes you can substitute a horse in this barrel race, however if the horse is already entered you can not place him in to another draw position. Any horse substitution must be made with the show secretary, in writing, at least 2 hours before your section begins or if running on Sunday, July 22nd, by 11:00am. The horse substitution must be made before you run. There will be a $10.00 substitution charge.

6. Are rider substitutions allowed?

If you enter and wish to change riders you may do so until Monday, July 9, with a $10 fee.  After this date you are allowed to change riders for ($25) under emergency circumstances until 24 hours prior to the beginning of the first section.  Keep in mind once the original rider has been changed they may not participate on any other horse during the event.

7. Can I change Sections?

If you enter and wish to change sections, you may due so up until Mon, July 9, with a $10 fee.  After this date you are allowed one section change per year ($25) under emergency circumstances until 24 hours prior to the beginning of the first section.

8. Can I sell my run?

No, you cannot sell a run. You have to draw out completely. If there are spots still available they can enter as a new entry, because we normally have a waiting list.

1. Check-In

Upon your arrival, we ask that you please take care of checking in to any stalls or RVs at the Stall Office.  While it’s not necessary to Check-In with the Entry Office, we encourage all contestants to visit the area outside of the Event Office to confirm their race positions with the draw sheets that will be posted.

2. How will the stalls & RVs be handled?

As with all WBRP events, you may check into your reserved stalls and/or RV spaces after 2pm on the date reserved. You MUST check out of the stalls and/or RV spaces by noon the following day.

There are 560 stalls at the Lazy E Arena that will be available at $20 per night. No outside shavings are allowed. No portable panels or tying horses to the trailers overnight, if stalls are available.

NOTE:  If you are traveling in a group and would like for the horses in your group to be stalled near each other, we ask that ONE of the contestants in your group reserve ALL needed stalls. This will make the check-in/check-out process go a bit more smoothly for all concerned.

Additionally, the facility offers 75 RV hookups at $35 per night. Please know that this fee was determined by management of the Lazy E Arena and is not negotiable. Your patience is appreciated.

3. Will there be Exhibitions?

No.

4. Will there be an Open Arena?

We will offer an Open Arena on Thursday, July 19th from noon until 5:00 pm.  During this time no barrels will be permitted inside the arena.

5. Opening Ceremonies

You’ll want to make sure to attend the opening ceremonies, held 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each section. In addition to music, dancing, and pyrotechnics, there will be a number of games played that involve the audience.

Frisbees will be thrown out with prizes such as saddle pads, bronc halters, stirrups, and t-shirts.  One Frisbee will be identified as the Oxy-Gen Money Throw Frisbee. After the first big drag, the person with this special Frisbee will have a chance to throw their Frisbee into an Oxy-Gen bucket located on the first barrel. The bounty on this will start at $1,000 and go up $1,000 after each event if the money is not won.

6. Games

Be sure to bring the entire family to the event! During the big drags, we’ll involve our audience with a variety of fun-filled games. The Egg-toss, Ladies 40 & Over Dance contest, and Dizzy Stick Horse are just a few of the games that will be held at our events. All games are open to the public and free to enter.

7. What is the dress code at this barrel race?

All contestants must wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, Western Hat (minimum 2 1/2" brim), and cowboy boots or equestrian sport shoes.  Caps are not permitted. NOTE:  If the hat falls off and lands in the alleyway or arena, a $10 dress code fine will be assessed. Helmets are not required but all contestants are encouraged to wear one. Anyone not wearing the proper attire in the arena will be assessed a $10 fine. The fine money will be going to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

8. Will there be Photos and a Video of my run?

To ensure that no horse is ridden by more than one person (with the exception of contestants who meet conditions detailed in the Family Rules), WBRP photographs and videotapes each contestants’ individual run. These photos/videos are the property of WBRP and decisions made by WBRP management as a result are final.

9. Why are fines and late fees assessed?

There are fines and late charges at all barrel races because a few people will not follow the rules. The fines or late charges are used to persuade them. The management of WBRP does not like the fines or late charge but has found out that they must have them.  100% of all fines and 50% of all late fees will be donated to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

10. How can the condition of the ground be consistent with so many racers competing over such a long time period?

An important element of any barrel race is the condition of the dirt in the arena.  World Barrel Racing Productions recognizes this concern and has retained D & G Dirt Crew to handle this important detail at the event.  We will drag every 5 runners, and do a “big drag” every 50. Also, after each section we will re-prepare the ground. Everything possible will be done in order to maintain equal conditions for all contestants. The D & G Dirt Crew is considered to be the best in the world.

AFTER THE DUST SETTLES . . .

1. How will the Truck be awarded?

After the conclusion of the event on Sunday afternoon, we will ask the winners of the first five places in each “D” to come to the arena floor, at which time they will each receive a key. The person whose key opens the door to the truck will win the truck.

If you are NOT present, a member of the WBRP staff will draw a key on your behalf AFTER every contestant who IS present has an opportunity to draw his/her key.

You do not have to be present to win the truck.  However, you must be present to receive the truck due to contract purposes. Please note that if you win the trophy truck and cannot be present to receive it on Sunday afternoon, you MUST claim the truck at our headquarter offices in Athens, Texas anytime after 10 am on Wednesday, July 25th.

PLEASE NOTE:

You will have 30 days to pay the tax, title, and license or the truck will be repossessed due to liability reasons.

You may not sell, repaint, or remove any decals from the Trophy Truck for a period of one year. If you sell, repaint, or remove any decals from the Trophy Truck within this time you agree to pay World Barrel Racing Productions a sum of $10,000. This is required because WBRP has made commitments to our sponsors stating that they will be advertised in this manner for this allotted amount of time.

2. If I run on Friday and you do not pay out until Sunday night, do I have to be present to receive my money and prize?

No you do not have to be present but if you are not a member you must fill out a "Winner's Verification Form" before any money or prizes will be sent to you. This form may be found on our website or will be available at the event.  You do NOT have to be present to win a Saddle, Buckle or the Truck. The rule is for other prizes on down the line. You can fill out a "Prize Release Form" and a friend can choose your prize and pickup your check. If you win anything other than a Saddle, Buckle or the Truck and you (or your friend) cannot pick it up at the event, your check and a Classic Equine Saddle pad will be mailed to you once your "Winner's Form" has been received.  If you want a choice on your prize, you must fill out a "Prize Release Form" and have someone else pickup your prize.  If you are a member a "Winner's Form" is not required, but a "Prize Release Form" must be filled out in order for someone else to pick up your check. Please note that if you win the trophy truck and cannot be present to receive it on Sunday afternoon, you MUST claim the truck at our headquarter offices in Athens, Texas anytime after 10 am on Wednesday, July 25th.

2. Postponement of Event

Due to Hurricane Katrina and September 11, World Barrel Racing Productions reserves the right to postpone any barrel race due to a natural or man made disaster, or if the price of diesel rises above $3.50 a gallon.  We do not like to put these conditions on any event, but feel it is not fair if only a small percentage of barrel racers can attend.  Any monies collected will be refunded.  If any event is postponed, we will reschedule it for a future date.  No postponement, or cancellation, will be made due to a lack of entries.
